[Pat's Review]: "Craving Redemption"

Craving Redemption by Nicole Jacquelyn
Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform (February 19, 2014)
Series: The Aces, 2
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Asa and Callie had nothing in common. He was an Ace, raised in the club and loyal to it above all else. She was a high school student with braces on her teeth and a narrow view of the world.

They should have never crossed paths.

But when Callie decides to defy her parents, and Asa goes on an errand for the club, their lives collide. He saves her, and she mesmerizes him.

They part believing they’ll never see each other again.
Neither could have predicted the chain of events they’d put in motion.

Now the two have to navigate the dark waters of a relationship built on tragedy and need without drowning in guilt for things outside their control.

How do you love someone when the worst decision of your life was the reason you met them?

Pat's Review:

This novel grabbed my heart and soul from page one.  It is gritty, violent and emotionally draining.  It is awesome!

Calliope  (Callie) is tired of being a boring good girl. She sneaks out with a friend, for one night of fun and immediately knows she is in way over her head. She is drugged, and about to be raped when a group of bikers crash the party.  It is the luckiest and worst night of her life.  Grease ( Asa) Hawthorne takes one look at the woman being dragged off, obviously nearly unconscious, and seethes with anger.  Especially when the bad dude dragging her drops her to the ground.  Amazingly, this woman drags herself across the room and wraps herself around his leg, begging for help.  Suddenly, Grease realizes this is not a woman, it's a young girl with braces, and terrified out of her skin.  He makes a decision that will change both their lives, as well as the people who love them.  Bullets flying, he carries her away.

This is a very hard book to review without giving spoilers. It is a story about a motorcycle club, it's members, and the day to day mayhem that goes along with it.  Most of all, it is a beautiful love story.  Callie is sixteen when she is rescued by Grease, who is twenty.  Some readers may have a problem with Callie being so young.  But the horror of what life brings to Callie matures her quickly, and Asa is never far from her side.  He loves her and cherishes her from the moment he rescues her.  Circumstances, people and lots of miles keep them apart, but the love they have for each other is boundless. Tested, twisted, but always there.

I have read Craving Constellations at least twice, Craving Redemption will go right next to it as one of my favorite motorcycle club reads. It can be read as a stand alone, but why miss out on the satisfaction of reading the first in the series?  My only regret is now having to wait for the next Aces installment.  This was an A+ read for me.

     5 STARS!
