My Review:

Picking up a Harlequin category romance is always a safe bet. The story will be sweet, with a slight hint of heat, and a good, if sometimes predictable, plot. And there's nothing at all wrong with that. I enjoy picking up a category every now and then. I tend to grab up authors I like, such as Sarah M. Anderson. She always knows how to write a hunky hero.

I will admit, What a Rancher Wants is not my favorite book by Anderson. But I still liked it, and I have no regrets about reading it.

Gabriella may have lived a sheltered life, but she's strong and determined. I liked her. Chance, of course, is the right man for her, a goodhearted cowboy.

Their story is sweet and very quick to progress. This was a very easy read, yet it still managed to grab my attention at times; I'm curious about the complete story behind Alex and his disappearance, not to mention the brief glimpse into the previous couples highlighted in this series.. I may read some of the other books. I can guarantee I will read more from Anderson, as I've loved her books in the past and even with an “average” rating, What a Rancher Wants was a quick, yet enjoyable, treat!

3 STARS!

I received an e-ARC of this book from the author, in exchange for my honest opinion.

Alright, I confess -- What a Rancher Wants wasn't my favorite. But I don't blame Sarah. I'm very picky when it comes to Harlequin novels. I have to be in the right mood to enjoy it, for one thing, and some storylines I enjoy more than others.

I find that, with category books especially, you have to find the books that you love. So if What a Rancher Wants fits, great! I'd love to hear what you think of the book. Just because I don't give a book 5 stars, doesn't mean it's not still a good book!

Do you read category romances? Have you read any of Anderson's books (from any publisher)?

Don't forget to stop by Sarah's fun guest post today, too, involving sexy cowboys and their boots! :)

Enjoy!
