Aleena Moore is content with her life. She has goals and dreams and an easy smile. She also has a secret she holds locked inside.

Their pasts are intertwined and their futures uncertain. The only truths they know are the secrets they whisper in the night.

Musing Maddie's Review:

In A. L. Jackson's Come to Me Quietly, I was riveted. From the first page. Jackson's talent to pull a reader in immediately is extraordinary.

Aleena, or Aly was a wonderful heroine. She was incredibly talented as an artist, yet hid behind a facade of safety, both in her chosen studies to be a nurse, and in her boyfriend. She kept herself aloof, seemingly fearful of deep associations. But, Aly had a man with whom she had always felt intensely connected.

Jared had grown from playful, protective and outgoing boy to dark, morose and isolated man. Fiercely private, desperately broken. A devastating yet magnetic pull for Aly. Of course, she had felt that for many years by the time they meet up as adults. Aly wanted to rescue the boy she once knew, and Jared tried to remain aloof, instinct dictating that he protect her from his darkness.

Come to me Quietly was an emotional and heart-wrenching story, told in both Jared and Aly's POV, first person, past tense. Typical of Jackson's intelligent and accomplished prose, the story was captivating, compelling, and will enthrall. Her characters were strong, and so intimately described, that you will cry with the depth of emotion you will experience. I truly appreciated the way the story developed, where the cause of Jared's pain, his traumatic history, was slowly unveiled throughout. The gentle yet riveting love story between Hero and heroine left me breathless, and the twist at the end, magnificent.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who can handle angst, depth, love and an ending that will partially satisfy, but also make you want more. You will not be disappointed.

Meet Musing Maddie:

Musing Maddie is an avid reader, who mainly devours all things romance. She loves series, but only when the story warrants a few books rather than one. A strong, intelligent female with a bit of sass and wit is the preferred heroine in the books she reads, and some sizzle between the sheets is welcome too. Well, ok...more than welcome! Well, not just between the sheets is just fine too! She’s from Down Under, so her humor is on the crazy side. Captivating storylines, with well developed plot and yes, hot, hunky Heroes, is definitely a preference, but she loves it when the characters are damaged, and their story brings hope and restoration. Yes please to HEAs!
