My Review:

The trend in NA seems to be two broken people, recovering from their past and learning how to move on, to fall in love. I'll admit, I sometimes wish to read a different kind of romance, yet I keep coming back to this theme. What can I say? I am a sucker for a tortured hero, and Nick fits that perfectly!

Some readers have mentioned to me that the first part of Hidden was a bit slow, or boring. Perhaps the pace was a bit on the slow side, but I didn't mind too much. I was interested in learning Nick and Lyndsey's story, and the chemistry between the two simmered for much of the first part of the book. I was anxious for them to get together and I wasn't disappointed when it finally happened.

I was glad that they both realized they had past problems to work out. As Nick said, he had to save himself before he could “save”, or even help, Lyndsey. She knew she had to forgive herself before she could open up to Nick completely. I respected both characters, and I felt that not only will they have a future together, but that they also learned how to help themselves. They grew as the story went on, and I couldn't have been happier. Nick's problems from his time in Afghanistan felt real, and rather than having said problems suddenly disappear after a few amazing orgasms, he had to work through his problems. I appreciated that! :)

This was my first time reading this author, but it will not be my last. I loved Nick and Lyndsey's story, and I cannot wait to read Gabe's book (as well as the rest of the series). If you are looking for a good NA book, with steamy scenes, chemistry, character growth and a sigh worthy romance, Hidden is the one to grab. I felt a connection to the characters Laurence created, and I didn't want to say good-bye to them. Gabe, you better be as sexy and addicting as Nick...I'm confident I will fall in love with the other books in this series, and I'm sure that other readers will as well. Hidden is a true gem; I've read some good NA romances lately, and more than a few that disappointed me. Hidden falls into the great category, hands down!

4 1/2 STARS!

Great review - I might have to check it out. I like New Adult where the characters are older and have some life experience.

Yes, if I recall the heroine is 21 and I believe the hero is a few years older? But they've both been through a lot and their life experiences have definitely helped them to grow. They're not all pure and innocent, that's for sure! :)
Enjoy,

It's the NA where they act more like teenagers I can't stand...I will put it on the list but determined to get my NG TBR pile down!
