[Musing Maddie's Review]: "Everything For Us"

Everything For Us by M. Leighton
Publisher: Berkley (September 3, 2013)
Series: The Bad Boys, 3
Genre: New Adult Contemporary

When it comes to passion this hot, it’s all or nothing.

Olivia Townsend’s wealthy cousin Marissa had everything a girl could ask for—a great job, a privileged life, and all the friends she wanted. Or, at least, all the friends money could buy. But one case of mistaken identity has turned her privileged world upside down.

An abduction gone wrong lands her right in the lap of the sexiest, most dangerous man she’s ever met. To Marissa, he’s an enigma, but one to whom she’s irresistibly, inexplicably drawn.

With him comes a new world of freedom and passion, of dark shadows and dangerous secrets, a world where nothing is what it seems—except for the blind passion that Marissa can’t escape—or maybe even survive.

Musing Maddie's Review:

Talented and accomplished author, Michelle Leighton, has done it again. Everything for Us was exceptional.

Dark, mysterious, sexy and angry Nash, was moody and broken. He doesn't believe he deserves or warrants redemption, nor love. His guilt and anger and thirst for revenge had been like air for him over the preceding seven years. His sole purpose. To give that up would leave him with nothing. No wall of defense, no direction, no rudder. Lost. His father begged him to let it go. But will that destroy him in the process? Will his future be as bereft as he imagines, unchangeable in its course of self destruction and hopelessness?

Beautiful, intelligent and feisty Marissa, had thought her vapid life was all there was, until her kidnapping. In Everything for Us, the reader gets to see a very different woman. A woman who realized that she held the unenviable status of only being a pawn to her father's grand plans. An insignificant, planned role for her future - arm candy. This bruised her. Her deep regret at her past behavior, and this sad realization began changes in her. Self loathing, something she had never known, empathy and also passion to set things right, to be her own woman. But sexy Nash Davenport ignites a different passion in her, one that she fights to overcome.

Leighton packs a power punch in Everything for Us. Rich with emotional prose, heart wrenching angst and thick with tension. As a reader, you will become conpletely immersed and engrossed Nash's wretched self-hate, as well as Marissa's heartfelt transformation and agonizing want. Incredible writing.

And then we get the sizzle. Do not forget that this woman writes with incredible sizzling sexiness, with scorching scenes that will mesmerize.

His words are delicious fingers that tickle my skin.

His lips are rough on mine. Hungry. His hands are calloused on my breasts. Urgent. His body drives deep inside me. Desperate.

Get. The. Fan.

The book was intense, which suited the characters and the story; beautifully composed due to Leighton's talented and descriptive prose; and gratifyingly resolved with a breathtaking conclusion to the series. This was definitely one of her strongest work.

Meet Musing Maddie:

Musing Maddie is an avid reader, who mainly devours all things romance. She loves series, but only when the story warrants a few books rather than one. A strong, intelligent female with a bit of sass and wit is the preferred heroine in the books she reads, and some sizzle between the sheets is welcome too. Well, ok...more than welcome! Well, not just between the sheets is just fine too! She’s from Down Under, so her humor is on the crazy side. Captivating storylines, with well developed plot and yes, hot, hunky Heroes, is definitely a preference, but she loves it when the characters are damaged, and their story brings hope and restoration. Yes please to HEAs!

Marvelous review Hon! Wow - so how New Adult is this - I am not a huge fan of New Adult (okay when they act more like a teenager and less like an adult) Would I have to start at book 1?
