Publisher: Atria Books (September 8, 2012)
Series: Love, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think that accepting a role in an unknown film would toss his career into overdrive. His new fame has cost him dearly; anonymity is no longer an option. His fans stalk him, the paparazzi hound him, and Hollywood studios all want a piece of him. Despite all of that, Ryan Christensen craves the most basic of human needs - to have love in his heart and privacy in his life.
Taryn Mitchell, the story's protagonist, is a realist. She's been feigning contentment, running the family pub in Seaport, Rhode Island, while quietly nursing her own internal heartaches. Her feet are fairly glued to the ground and she doesn't buy into all the hype that has descended on her tiny, coastal town. In her world, men are safe if they're kept at a distance.
Fate has other plans for these two when their paths cross one sunny afternoon. A group of female fans has attacked him, leaving his shirt torn, his face cut, and Ryan in obvious distress. Bonds between them form from the most dramatic of circumstances while jealousy, insecurity, and the stress of his celebrity life try to tear them apart.
Through all the tabloid lies, secrecy, and pressure, can Taryn's peace and Ryan's high-profile insanity live together in harmony?

Kame's Review:
I am generally a person who can keep focus, and when I have a lot of work to do I hunker down and get it done. This book did not let me do that. I found I was giving myself milestones – get this group of papers corrected and I can read another chapter. So went the entire book, and honestly the book that follows also!
The setting of this book is something I can imagine very well, a small seacoast town in Rhode Island. It is the location of a blockbuster movie set. Taryn Mitchell owns a pub and has no interest in the craziness that has descended on her tranquil town. She has never been able to figure out why women swoon for unattainable men. She never hung that poster of the teen heartthrob on her wall, why start now at 27 years old. Taryn is grounded in who she is. Trusting a man is hard for Taryn as eight months ago she found her fiancée with another woman. She lives a predictable, painless existence. But her father always told her “You never know which way the wind blows”. And the wind is about to blow Taryn’s life in a whole new direction. This new direction came running down the sidewalk straight at Taryn, Ryan Christensen, a reluctant heartthrob. All he is doing is a job he loves, acting. He hates the crowds and the attention. And at the exact moment Tarn was putting out the sign detailing the weekend entertainment in her pub, he came running into her life, running away from screaming fans and the nagging photographers, and into her pub.
Now you might expect a plot where Taryn and Ryan look into each other’s eyes feel an immediate connection and then run upstairs to her apartment. What actually happens is a wonderful relationship progression.
“…it’s our crazy story,” he stated. “It’s been ours, only ours. There’s been a lot of romance, sometimes way too much drama….Very memorable comedy, a few pulse-chasing action scenes …We’ve also had our fair share of suspense and raw terror, and unfortunately gut-wrenching heartache too”
This has to be one of the most satisfying books I have read in a long time. Yes this is a romance complete with a “Happily Ever After”, but there are parts I cried, parts I wanted to strangle a character or two, and times I could not contain my joy. Taryn and Ryan will forever be one of my favorite romance couples, and that is because they have a relationship, they talk and work through their issues.
I had first received this book as a free download from a reviewing service. The formatting of the file was horrendous, I enjoyed this book so much I abandoned the free copy and bought Love Unscripted for my Nook, and the second book in the series also – even before I finished the first

Meet Kame:
Kame is part of a family of readers; one day she picked up the Nook she purchased for her husband and discovered her love of e-books. A few months later he purchased one for her so he could have his back! Kame’s Nook is never far, and she is hard pressed to pick a favorite book, genre or author. As long as there are characters that make her want to sit down and have a chat and a plot keeps the pages turning, she’ll read it.
